Location: 40 57.35 N 73 34.80 W
Site Description:
Approximately 3 miles offshore of Greenwich, near CT DEP's Station C2, in 18.3 meters (60 feet)
Water Quality Sensors:
A surface YSI 6600 sonde with water temperature, conductivity (salinity), dissolved oxygen at approximately 1 meter depth transmits data every 15 minutes. A mid-depth sensor at 8 meters (25 feet), and a bottom sensor at 16 meters (50 feet) are recording data internally, data is collected when the buoys are serviced every 4-6 weeks.
Meteorological Sensors:
Wind speed and direction, barometric pressure, relative humidity, air temperature from R.M. Young Co.
Anemometer height is 3.5 meters above the water surface. Weather data is transmitted every 15 minutes.
